A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT Diane Vukovich
While the months of January, February and March might be slow times for some clubs, they certainly are not for Akron Woman’s City Club. In addition to all the activities our units, sections and groups have scheduled, there are many special events. January events include our 12th Annual Police Appreciation Dinner and the Red Carnation Luncheon, which honors our past presidents and raises money for the Club’s Endowment Fund. Plus the Agatha Christie play, “And Then There Were None”, opens at our Coach House Theatre. Theatre goers are always welcome to have dinner or Sunday Brunch at the Club prior to attending a play. Reservations are a must. Just call the Club at 330-762-6261. In February we celebrate Valentine’s Day with a lovely Candlelight Dinner, a Valentine’s Luncheon and a very special musical program sponsored by our Town Hall Unit. The Coach House Theatre play also runs through February 19. And what would March be without a St. Patrick’s Day Party! See all the fun you are missing if you are not yet a member! We also continue throughout the year to support our community and beyond through our “Charity of the Month” program and other philanthropic works. Explore our website for additional information on our charitable activities; and for other Club events, check the Featured Events listing on our Home Page. You will also find an Events Calendar under the “About” heading. Finally, if for some reason you are not yet a member of our Club, go to our Home Page where you will find membership information under the “About” heading. You can’t beat our 4 months for $80 Provisional/Trial Membership. We are confident that after trying us, you will want to continue the relationship. But if you are unable to join us now, do consider our elegant building as a site for your meetings, parties and other events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, birthday celebrations, etc. We are especially pleased to host your charitable events. On behalf of the members of the Akron Woman’s City Club, I wish you a wonderful 2012!
