Club and Membership Information

Mission Statement

The Akron Woman's City Club maintains an historic campus, which serves as a facility for the philanthropic, educational, cultural, civic and social activities for the enrichment of its members and the community.

The Club Provides:

• Premier civic meeting and dining facilities with convenient parking.
• Community outreach by sponsoring the Town Hall Speakers Series and by housing Coach House Theatre, the oldest community theatre in Ohio.
• Support for community artists by hosting their exhibits
• Support for education by awarding student grants
• Opportunities for fellowship and camaraderie
• Leadership opportunities
• Personal development opportunities
• Interest groups for art, music, history, book lovers, needlework, bridge, euchre, travel, etc.
• Special Club-wide evengts and parties
• Youth parties and activities
• Unique shopping opportunities in its boutique, which is open to members and their guests

Membership Catagories

Senior Active:  Has all the rights and privileges of the club, including participation in governance.  This membership is open to any adult woman age 40 or older.  The initiation fee is currently waived in honor of our 85th Anniversary and the dues are payable in full, half-year, or quarterly payments.  Spouses have the same rights and privileges, excluding the right to vote and participation in governance, without additional dues.

Junior Active: Has all the rights and privileges of the Club, excluding voting and participation in governance.  This membership is open to any woman, age 21 up to 40, at which time she may transfer to senior membership and pay senior dues. Age notwithstanding, this membership has also been extended to any woman with a child 12 years of age or younger.  The initiation fee is currently waived as above and the dues are payable in full, half-year, or quarterly payments.

Men’s Associate: Has all the rights and privileges of the club, excluding voting and participation in governance.  This membership is open to any adult man, 21 and older.  The initiation fee is waived as above and the dues are payable in full, half-year, or quarterly payments.

Dining Membership: This membership is open to both men and women who work fulltime.  In addition to the Dining privileges, this membership category offers the use of the Ballroom, private party, and meeting rooms for a fee and permits attendance at Club-wide events and functions.  Governance and Sections are excluded.  There is no initiation fee and the dues are payable in full, half-year, or quarterly payments.
